Tubi Coming Soon

Working with a Product Manager, during 2019 yearly planning, we created a one-pager concept of a "Coming Soon" feature. We wanted to sell the team on investing and building in the idea.

Important note before continuing: The conceptual mockups designed below are only used within Tubi internally only. I have used the listed titles for illustrative purposes only.

Goals

• Entice users to return month over month by highlighting quality content that is coming to the service

• Allow users to add content that is coming soon to their queue and get notifications when titles become available

How? 

• Content is manually selected for the browsing container; content should be hidden as soon as it goes live

• Push campaigns should be scheduled for the first day of availability for users who have bookmarked the content

• Machine Learning will not move up the "Coming Soon" container in the browse since it will not produce CVT. The container should have its own space in the browse menu, and its content should display artwork, metadata, and the option to bookmark and receive notifications

• V2: Use Machine Learning to select which titles should be presented to users based on their watch history

Competitor Analysis 

HBO NOW and Netflix both promote titles that are coming soon to their platforms. Note, these appear separate from the standard grid of available content either in a "quick hits" section featuring short-form content or in a designated "coming soon" section.
